History
The history of our company, which is known under its present name since 1989, hails from commercial IT experiences since 1986. At that time, in cooperation with a team of IPIX creators (Polish UNIX), we began working on utility software for UNIX family operating systems. The outcome of this work was a software package automating office work, know in Poland as QR-Biuro. The first QR-Biuro module was QR-Tekst (text processor), originally designed for DOS/UNIX systems, later extended to MS-WINDOWS operating systems. QR-Tekst has received numerous commends and awards, twice becoming the „Product of the Year” (1993, 1995). It was also the finalist of the Software for Europe – Golden Softies contest ( CeBIT 1992 ) and received a very prestigious distinction – the right to use the emblem „Teraz Polska” (1994).

In the middle of the 90’s MALKOM began cooperating with Hewlett-Packard on software and HP 9000 computer systems. One of the first joint projects was the development of electronic mail implementation methodology on the basis of HP OpenMail servers. For this purpose MALKOM has developed an entirely Polish electronic mail client in a terminal and graphic version, known as QR-Mail. MALKOM also has experience in the implementation of server management and WAN (Wide Area Network) systems based on HP OpenView family products.
Apart from cooperating with Hewlett-Packard, MALKOM evolved own WAN and LAN security system elements. Currently we hold own firewall (SEC. QR-Gateway) and virtual network designing software. MALKOM expands users authorization and authentication software, which utilizes the cryptographic card and encryption device technology (Sec.QR-AS). Our products are based on generally accepted standards, such as SSL/TLS, PKCS#1, PKCS#10, X.509, PKCS#7, PKCS#11, PKCS#12 and many more. They also support leading operating systems on the market: WINDOWS, LINUX and HP-UX.
